Thesis: "Eine morphologische Studie der Andromedagalaxie im weichen Röntgenband" (A morphological
study of the Andromeda galaxy in the soft X-ray band).

From 1995 to 2002 scientific research fellow at MPE.
At the beginning I worked in the fields of galaxy research (nearby galaxies) in X-ray astronomy
investigating data from the german X-ray satellite ROSAT.
From 1997 to 2002 works in the field of neutron stars with main emphasis on theoretical
considerations concerning the explanation of acceleration, interchange, and radiation processes of
electrons/positrons within neutron star magnetospheres.
From 2000 to 2002 examination of data from the european X-ray satellite
XMM
(also).
Accompanied work:
Analysis of all ROSAT-HRI data to arrange a complete source catalog. This catalog
is internally available at MPE since summer 2001.
Cooperation to the developement/enhancement of both analysis systems SASS and
EXSAS for the
analysis of ROSAT data.
System developer at the company
Mentz Datenverarbeitung GmbH (mdv). This company developes software for public transportation systems. My working field: Optimization algorithms to optimize schedules with regard to change relations between interconnected lines using mathematical principles.
